Share Post :

The Regional Forum of Investigative Journalists, organized by the Center for Investigative Journalism of Moldova (CIJM), will bring together some of the most respected voices in investigative reporting and strategic communication from Moldova and across the region. Taking place on June 3-4, 2025, this major event aims to strengthen journalistic integrity and explore responses to disinformation and information warfare.

The forum’s agenda includes sessions on tracking illicit financial flows, uncovering corruption in the justice system, and revealing the hidden influence of propaganda networks in Eastern Europe. It will also serve as a platform for exchanging tools and methodologies for fact-checking, verifying data, and building cross-border collaborations.

Media integrity in a challenging context

As Moldova approaches key electoral moments, the resilience of the media sector and its capacity to counter manipulation have never been more important. Forums like this are not only about journalism, but also about safeguarding democratic space and ensuring that accurate information reaches the public.

Representatives from international organizations, experienced reporters, and media development experts will gather to discuss practical strategies to protect independent journalism and expose coordinated disinformation campaigns.

Why this forum matters

The Regional Forum of Investigative Journalists serves as a vital space for dialogue and knowledge-sharing between journalists, civil society actors, and international experts. In an era where disinformation is increasingly used to manipulate public opinion and erode trust in democratic institutions, the event plays a key role in:

  • Strengthening the resilience of independent media;
  • Promoting ethical journalism and fact-based storytelling;
  • Encouraging collaboration between journalists, civil society organizations, and public institutions to expose and counter false narratives.

Such forums are essential for building a society that values truth, transparency, and accountability. For Moldova, they offer a unique opportunity to align local responses with regional best practices and to foster a more informed and critically engaged public.

Representatives of ICDC partners, as well as members of the ICDC team, will be present at the event to engage in these critical discussions. Their participation reflects a shared goal across institutions and civic actors: to ensure Moldova remains resilient in the face of growing information threats.
